Take Part Take Pride

by Sunita Gordon on 17 February, 2012

This year the Summer Festival in Sutton will start in mid May and continue until September to make the most of the historic events London is celebrating.

If you or your organisation would like to want to host an event in celebration of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics and Paralympics, we can help.

A not for profit organisation, hosting an event, you may be eligible to apply for up to £500 of funding provided by the council.  Providing your organisation meets the certain criteria as specified on our application form.

Alternatively, if you are an individual or small local group who just wants to put on an event for your local neighbourhood to celebrate Take Part Take Pride, such as a picnic or party in the park, a country walk with refreshments, or a more ambitious activity day, you could apply for a £50 supermarket voucher.

You can also apply for one of these if you’re putting on a street party or Big Lunch for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Street parties held over the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee bank holiday weekend from 2 – 5 June can also apply to have their street, or part of their street, closed and Sutton Council will waive the road closure fee. The latest date for road closure applications is 4 May

For the £500 funding opportunity or the £50 supermarket voucher you need to apply by 15 March 2012 using our online application form.

Even if you are not applying for funding, do let the council know about your event it can be promoted in the Summer Festival Programme and on the website.

The online application form and street closure form can be accessed on our website: www.sutton.gov.uk/summerfestival
