Practical ways to help your local community

by Barry on 17 March, 2020

These are challenging times for all of us and we ask everybody to listen to and heed the advice and guidance that is issued centrally by the Government.    We have listed below some practical things you can do to help and also Councillor contact details:

  1. Look out for neighbours who are self isolating and may need help with shopping and other help especially if they are elderly or live alone.   We have teamed up and are part of  a local organisation CoW (Community of Wallington).  See other posts on this page. If you need help or want to volunteer email jonnypage.community@gmail.com or personal message to Wallington North Councillors via Facebook.
  • Food Banks.  Local food banks have seen a reduction in donations.  You can donate money to Sutton Food Bank via their website at https://sutton.foodbank.org.uk/.  You can also donate food and grocery items by taking them to the Food donation point at Big Yellow on the Kimpton Road Estate (see website for address and shopping list).  If you have items to donate and can’t get to the Food Donation Point them email us at wallingtonnorthlibdems@gmail.com or personal message via this page and we will arrange to collect.
  • As your Local councillors we can help and advise if individual residents have particular concerns.  You can contact us at:

wallingtonnorthlibdems@gmail.com

Our individual email addresses are:

Marian.james@sutton.gov.uk

Sunita.gordon@sutton.gov.uk

Barry.lewis@sutton.gov.uk
