Elm Ponds fountain has taken an unexpected break. No gentle splashes, no soothing water noises, just a strange silence where there usually is life.

It seems that our fountain’s hardworking pumps have burnt out and need replacing. 

Now, here’s where we hit a bit of a snag. We’ve only just waved goodbye to the cold winter months and found ourselves in spring, but half our annual repairs budget has already been spent! Due to this, we’re in a bit of a tight spot and need to focus our resources on health and safety repairs at the moment. 

Regrettably, our lovely fountain doesn’t splash into that category.

But worry not! Your dedicated Ward Councillors aren’t about to leave our favourite water feature high and dry. We’re exploring all possible funding paths, checking under every metaphorical couch cushion, including looking into the Public Realm and the Neighbourhood Fund.

So, while our fountain takes a short hiatus, let’s take a moment to appreciate the tranquil, albeit somewhat drier, charm of Elm Ponds. 

We’re committed to getting the fountain back in action and will provide updates as soon as we have more information. In the meantime, enjoy the peaceful pond side and the soothing sounds of nature.
