Make sure that our local heroes receive the recognition they deserve.
You can nominate anyone who lives, works, studies or volunteers in the borough for an award.
You can make your nomination online, by email communityawards@sutton.gov.uk, or by picking up a freepost nomination form at your local library, Civic Offices, or other council or partner building.
The closing date for nominations is Sunday 5 January 2014.
The categories for nominations are:
1. Given outstanding service to the borough by keeping Sutton safe
2. Made a difference to people’s lives by going the extra mile
3. Brought the community together through community events, clubs or projects
4. Increased prosperity, employment or access to the borough through business initiatives
5. Brought credit to the borough through outstanding achievement – e.g. academic, sporting, artistic or cultural.
The Awards Process
A panel of council officers and partners will review nominations and produce a shortlist. The Leader of Sutton Council and senior officers will then review the shortlisted nominations and select the winners.
All those shortlisted will be invited to a celebration event in February 2014, where the winners will be announced.
Winners will receive a commemorative certificate and £100 in high street vouchers Runners up will receive a commemorative certificate.
Nominations are now open and will close on Sunday 5 January. Please complete the online form, send in a special nomination form or send in full details by email.
